The inspector doesnt have more time toprocrastinate questions, so he will just cut in and ask them. Thishelps the inspector to get through every person in a m ethodicallogical order hence the plot can be developed.From the following you can draw the conclusion that the inspectorplays a massive role in the inspector calls, from a dramatic puppet to have narrative functions, and acting as a vehicle to sway Priestleys socialist views. If the inspector wasnt in theplay, the play wouldnt work life would be difficult for Priestley toput across his views. The essential elements of the play to make it elicit are lost if the inspector wasnt there, so he is veryessential, and is one of the most important characters of the play aninspector calls.
